About / THE ONE44

What stays
with us.

A creative studio, Toronto

Our interest is in the inner lives of people: the things they want, the moments they avoid and the stories that stay after the credits.

Our approach

Start with the person. Follow the feeling.

THE ONE44 brings together writing, directing and original music. These are different crafts, but they share a single question: what does the audience need to feel and understand at this moment?

Whether the answer is in a line of dialogue, a moment of silence or a musical phrase, the work is guided by character and emotional clarity.

Fikayo Odunayo is a Toronto-based writer, director, composer and actor. A Toronto Film School graduate, he works across narrative film, original scoring and performance.

His short films The Janitor and Change have received recognition for directing, cinematography, music and storytelling at film festivals. Both projects reflect an interest in ordinary people confronting difficult internal choices.

THE ONE44 is the home for his writing, directing and composing work. Acting is part of Fikayo's personal career, not a service offered by the studio.

What guides the work

Truth in the details.

Character first

We look for the tension behind a choice, not just what happens next.

Emotion without excess

Restraint can say more than explanation. Silence, performance and score should earn their place.

One connected vision

Writing, direction and music can work separately or together, but each should serve the same story.
